The fit of your saddle,
- Once Matthew has delivered your saddle in person, or your saddle has been accepted by you from a courier, a settling in period of between 4-6 weeks is suggested to allow the flocking to settle. Once this period has elapsed Matthew offers a re-fitting service. Most saddlers will charge for this, Matthew does not, he offers 1(one) re-fit *free of charge (*all fuel expenses apply). If the saddle needs a slight alteration after this settling in period this will cost just £25 for a handling fee. After this 6 week settling in period, any visit to check/alter saddles will incur the full call out/fuel and alteration fees.
- Saddles are never altered on the day. All saddles are taken to our workshops in Walsall to be altered. This can take between 7 to 14 days. Please only book Mathew for an alteration/re fit when you can do without the saddle for this length of time.
- Horses change shape for many reasons. If, from the time the horse is measured until the time you accept delivery of your saddle, the horse has changed shape, then this is not the fault of Heritage Bespoke Saddles and we can not be held responsible for this. In this case, if you wish Heritage to alter the saddle to a new template, an alteration fee shall apply.
- If your horse has changed shape and you wish Matthew to visit you again then a call out fee and all fuel expenses will apply.
- If you wish the altered saddle to be delivered back to you, and checked for fit by Matthew in person, a call out fee and all fuel expenses must be covered. Alternatively ,Heritage can post it back to you for a P+P cost of £20 for most of UK. Costs for Highlands/islands will vary.
- To be clear: Heritage accepts no resposibility for saddles, supplied by us, not fitting perfectly due to you the owners horse changing shape. We will always alter your saddle for you to fit, but fees will apply.
- How do we know if a horse has changed shape? We keep ALL templates taken of the horses withers and compare these to any new ones taken. This clearly shows any changes to horses shape that has occured.
- Heritage can not be held responsible for any saddles made to templates/tracings supplied by the customer, not fitting perfectly. If this occurs we will ask for the saddle to be returned, at customers expense, with a fresh template/tracing for comparison the original, and alteration fees will appply.
- We do not offer/give refunds for custom made items. We will always endevour to put any issues right, whatever they may be.
- All cost of returning items to us and return postal costs to return items back to the customer will be paid by the customer whatever the reason for return.
- Paying for your saddle,
- Heritage do not accept credit/debit cards of any kind over the phone or on the day of a fitting.
- Orders that are made through this website go through Paypal and cards may be used, but Paypal fees at their present rate will be paid by the customer in full and charged to their account for payment in full prior to delivery of any order.
- Due to several problems that have arisen with payment of saddles, Heritage now require a 50% of total cost of order as a deposit on the day of the saddle fitting/order, 25% of which must be cash. No saddles will be posted out to any location or customer until 100% of the payment has be made and has cleared. If Matthew is delivering your saddle, in person, the full balance of the saddle MUST be paid in cash if the saddle is to be left with you on the day. If you wish to pay the balance by cheque then the saddle will be taken back to the workshops and delivered to you (postal cost applies) once the cheque has cleared.
- Any deposits or payments given are non-refundable for any reason. If you cancel your saddle order the monies paid will not be refunded.
- If the order of your saddle is changed for any design reason after initial order a £50 handling fee will apply plus any cost to design then make these changes.
